The 10 commandments of the GF
All work and no play? No, every now and then we make a video on our own initiative, just for ourselves. Like this one, which explains the 10 commandments of the Ghent Festivities.
The customer
There is no real client for this case. We made this video mainly because we like to party along ourselves ;-)
The challenge
We didn't make up the 10 Commandments ourselves. They have been around since 2013, and came about at the initiative of the collective Feastability Framework. Their goal? To call on visitors to party well while being considerate of local residents. Because if we can limit the nuisance, the Feasts will be able to continue for a long time.
A noble goal, which we fully support. So we thought: let's boost that message with a playful animation video!
Our solution
We didn't have to start from scratch: a wise text full of witticisms was already on the table. To match that energy, we came up with a playful scene to reinforce each commandment, and we cast everything in a characterful visual style, completely tailored to the Ghent Festivities.
We found the perfect voice to deliver this message, moving all the puzzle pieces together. End result? A wise video that finds - and entertains - its audience year after year.
